About the Opportunity
The Clinical Midwife Specialist (CMS) will play a vital leadership role in supporting our Antenatal, Postnatal, Fetal Medicine, Intrapartum, and NAARMURU services, primarily after hours. The CMS is crucial in providing guidance and support to our junior Midwives and Midwifery students, especially in the absence of Clinical Midwifery Educators and Midwifery Unit Managers.
The purpose of the Clinical Midwife Specialist (Grade 2) (CMS 2) position is to provide senior midwifery clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a midwifery unit, team or service. The CMS 2 employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.

Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and at least 3 years' experience working in a relevant area with post-registration qualifications deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage the complex clinical care needs of patients/women through the development and use of advanced clinical management plans
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work late shifts Monday - Friday and morning and late shifts on weekends.
