Selection Criteria:
  1. Registration or eligible for registration with Medical board of Australia (AHPRA). Candidate to provide on application AHPRA Registration Number.
  2. Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) and/or other specialist recognition as provided for under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
  3. Demonstrated recognised training and significant experience as a Consultant Clinical Cardiologist, including management of both inpatients and outpatients, general and cardiology on call experience and cardiology inpatient consulting experience.
  4. Extensive experience and demonstrated expertise in both performing and reporting, Transthoracic Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography and Transoesophageal Echocardiography.
  5. Demonstrated willingness to commit to an equitable General On-Call roster at Sydney Hospital. This includes the ability to follow up appropriately patients after discharge.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team.
  7. Willingness to teach medical students and other staff of the hospital when reasonably requested with demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review, equal employment opportunity and Work Health Safety and Rehabilitation.
  8. Evidence, after full registration, of no less than five years in the practice of medicine in New South Wales Health System or in any other institution deemed by the LHD to be of equivalent standing inclusive no less than three years in supervised specialist training and/or experience.
