The Royal Hospital for Women has been one of Australia's foremost specialist hospitals for women and babies, since its early beginnings as New South Wales first 'lying-in' hospital for women in 1820. The main areas of specialisation include breast care, gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, maternity, maternal fetal medicine, menopause, newborn intensive care and reproductive medicine.

The Sonographer Educator is Responsible For:
- Meeting the education and professional development needs of the sonographers, students and junior medical staff.
- Managing, evaluating and developing sonographer professional development and mandatory training programs and reporting back to the chief sonographer and director about the program's effectiveness and progress.
- Maintain yearly staff auditing/credentialling through RANZCOG for the Nuchal Translucency program.
- Perform clinical, administrative, on call and roster duties in line with the award and as directed by the chief sonographer and director of medical imaging.

Selection Criteria:
- Medical Radiation Scientist degree with Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent.
- Registered with Australian Sonographers Accreditation Register (ASAR).
- Experience in Obstetric, Gynaecological & Neonatal/paediatrics and general ultrasound.
- Demonstrated experience providing teaching and supervision to junior staff and students, along with developing and implementing teaching programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
