The Role
The position leads the operational accountability for the delivery of high quality services, as well as day to day management of the engineering teams within allocated resources. The Head of Infrastructure, Engineering and Redevelopment oversees engineering, maintenance, energy management, and fire safety for the Southern Sector of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. Responsibilities include plant operations, emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance, including fire safety and grounds management. The role implements frameworks, tools, and compliance systems to enhance asset and infrastructure management in line with the Ministry of Health’s Asset Management Policies.

- Relevant qualification and/or extensive experience in senior management experience in facilities management, engineering, complex building services or similar, demonstrating an understanding of facilities management, including management of assets, infrastructure, engineering and maintenance services.
- Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills, including the ability to make complex judgements and take initiative within the delegated area.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of staff in a complex, high volume maintenance and engineering services environment across multiple work sites using effective time management skills to meet competing deadlines and priorities.
- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills necessary to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated conceptual, planning, analytical, problem solving skills with the ability to create high quality documents and reports, including the use of Asset and Facilities Management systems and other programs such as Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary legislation, standards, building codes and guidelines relating to maintenance, engineering and management.
- Proven ability to lead organisational change in service practices, with a strong focus to motivate and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve the desired outcome.
- Current drivers licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
