What you'll be doing

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘ exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.
 
Provide strong leadership and expert advice on all facets of public health palliative care to the palliative care clinical stream. The role has a specific focus on providing support to and engagement with the Palliative care and the broader community to achieve service objectives and deliver an integrated patient centred palliative care service at all facilities and across the community.

The SESLHD Public Health Palliative Care Project Lead will liaise closely with the Palliative Care Service to explore opportunities to improve, build relationships and partnerships and encourage best practice for public health palliative care approaches across the community.  

The position will provide high level advice, guidance and support to the palliative care team and other stakeholders.

Selection Criteria: 

  1. A tertiary qualification in Health Management or clinical discipline or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Demonstrated involvement in and /or understanding of public health palliative care issues and priorities at a National and State level.
  3. Excellent negotiation, decision making and influencing skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, through all organisational levels.
  4. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  5. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Thorough understanding of and commitment to health care provision and management necessary to improve health outcomes for service consumers.
  7. Demonstrated excellent computer skills including word processing, data management, data analysis and interpretation and presentation skills.
  8. Current NSW Driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites across SESLHD and the community as required.
