What you'll be doing

The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the provision of compassionate and professional nursing care to all patients POWH Community Assessment Unit
   
The Enrolled Nursing position within the SESLHD includes but is not limited to the Community Assessment Unit and associated Clinics.  
   
The Enrolled Nurse is the patient's advocate and delivers high quality nursing care to patients of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District consistent with the LHDs policies, procedures and standards.  
 
The Enrolled Nurse works under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse for delegated functions  
   
Professional development and active participation in the service Quality Improvement program are integral components of the role. All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees.  
 
The Enrolled Nurse is to administer medications that are within their scope of practice.  

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
  2. Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration, including intravenous therapy
  3. Recent clinical experience as an enrolled nurse in a health care setting, with an interest in medicine and community assessment
  4. Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values
  5. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  7. Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, organise workload and effectively manage time
  8. Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
