What you'll be doing
Provide receptionist and administrative support to the staff, patients and visitors of the Adult Outpatient Department
Process referrals and make Outpatient appointments in eMR scheduling
Register patients when attending Outpatient appointments
Ensure patient information is accurate and up to date on the hospital information systems (iPM, MRTS etc).
Answer telephone and general enquiries promptly and politely
Ensure Medicare billing for eligible patients attending a billable clinic
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

- Demonstrated experience in administration in a health-related field.
- Effective time management and demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- An ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
- Demonstrated sound computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to handle issues of a confidential and sensitive nature.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and written communication skills and experience in providing a customer focused service including over the telephone.
- Previous experience with Medicare billing or willingness to learn.
