1.0 FTE Permanent Full Time or Part Time vacancy exists at the newly expanded POW Medical Imaging Department.
Are you an experienced Sonographer/Radiographer looking for a great new role in a new hospital department within Sydney's Eastern suburbs? Prince of Wales Hospital has excellent transport links, the light rail terminates at the hospital. Coogee beach is a short walk and there are many local eateries.
You will be working within a wonderful passionate team. Prince of Wales is expanding into a newly constructed Acute Services Building. The campus is one of the largest in Australia. It is affiliated with the University of NSW and is a major tertiary referral centre. The Prince of Wales Medical Imaging Department is located on the Randwick Campus and provides services to POWH, Sydney Children's Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women, and the War Memorial Hospital.
A wide range of ultrasound examinations are performed. Paediatric examinations form a major component of our daily scans. There is also high demand for general, abdominal, urologic and small parts. Some vascular and musculo-skeletal examinations are also performed. The successful applicant should demonstrate a high level of knowledge and proficiency in complex general and paediatric sonography procedures without supervision
The successful applicant will participate in a 7-day rotating roster working primarily within the Ultrasound section, including some call and occasional weekend shifts. Current U/S shift commencement times are between 0800 and 1000. For WH&S, Sonographers will occasionally break up ultrasound duties with a few hours of radiography.
Experience in ultrasound is required, this is NOT a trainee position. Current unrestricted membership with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR): A qualification in Radiography, current registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner (AHPRA) and current Radiation User Licence (EPA) are essential.

Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.
- Holder of Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography or equivalent.
- Hold current ASAR registration and accreditation.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in Paediatric, musculo-skeletal, small part and general sonography.
- Demonstrated use of effective communication skills, ability to provide a quality service to all levels of personnel and customers.
- Demonstrate ability to train and teach trainee Sonographer/ Radiographer.
- Demonstrate clinical reasoning skills in the performance of sonographic procedures.
- Possession of registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for Medical Radiation Practice Board Possession of registration as Medical Radiation Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Possess the appropriate E.P.A. I-14 radiation license to use irradiating equipment for medical diagnostic radiation
