The Oral Health Service is seeking to recruit a full- time enthusiastic and experienced dental officer to join our multidisciplinary team. 

Clinicians at this level are competent practitioners with at least two years clinical experience. They must be able to work under minimal professional supervision, exercising independent professional judgement on routine clinical matters.

The successful applicant will deliver high quality clinical services, including oral health education, to eligible clients in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District within the Kogarah Community dental Clinic. the clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment with access to onsite OPG, CEREC unit and rotary endo.

The service is supported by a range of specialist service referral pathways, with onsite visiting oral and maxillofacial surgeon who is rostered twice a month to manage complex oral surgery procedures. 



Where you'll be working:

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
 
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

  1.  Current registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2.  A minimum of two years post-graduate experience in the practice of dentistry and a demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgment.
  3.  Demonstrated competence in the management of patients with complex medical conditions and/or oral health needs.
  4.  Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
  5.  Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventive / population health approach to patient care.
  6.  Willingness to participate in quality improvement activities and participate in clinical research activities as required.
  7.  Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development.
  8.  Experience in treating patients under general anaesthetic is useful.
