Wonderful opportunity for an Orthoptist with experience working with children to work with the State-wide Eyesight Screening Program (StEPS), running secondary outreach  clinics in the Illawarra region. Flexibility with work days and mileage allowance where applicable.

What you'll be doing
Providing comprehensive Orthoptic Assessments of children in a community health setting throughout Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District as well as any other facility within the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network as required. Skilled in the visual assessment of children with developmental and behavioural difficulties. Triaging StEPS referrals within SESLHD and ISLHD according to StEPS business processes. Responsible for follow up of outcome reports and data entry into children’s medical records using platforms such as eMR and Scheduler. Liaising with parents and carers regarding options of further care and providing them with the knowledge and resources to ensure high referral follow-up rate. Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the local area to ensure on-going provision of the service and look for improvements. Contributing to a team environment and offering support in relation to clinical matters and professional knowledge within the team and to patients.
