A new permanent -full time targeted Aboriginal Speech Pathology position is available at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick. The speech pathology department at SCH has been offering an Aboriginal specific speech pathology service to the local Aboriginal Community for over 11 years, aiming to deliver a flexible, accessible, and culturally appropriate service. This new Aboriginal targeted position will continue to support and enhance the existing SCH speech pathology service as well as to develop the Aboriginal specific speech pathology service at Children's Hospital Westmead. Teaching and training and the supervision of junior staff and speech pathology students is an expectation of this role. The speech pathology department at SCH is a large dynamic team with a special interest in equity of access to healthcare and evidence based practice.

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the position is to provide a comprehensive Speech Pathology service to children, young people and their families, who have been referred from the relevant clinical area.  This includes the provision of assessment, management, and advocacy.  The Speech Pathologist is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and will be required to participate in clinical, educational and administrative activities that are required to provide an efficient and effective Speech Pathology service.  This position may have a clinical, education or management focus and may have elements of all three.
