The Paediatric Anaesthesia department at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick is currently looking for a temporary Staff Specialist to join their team on a 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) basis for a 8-month period. The expected start date for this role is 27th October 2025, with an end date of 30th June 2026. 

What you'll be doing
Provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
 
Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff.
 
Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Anaesthetist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
  2. Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award
  3. Extensive recent experience in paediatric and neonatal anaesthesia and acute pain management at Consultant level in a tertiary paediatric institution. This experience must be recent and the applicant must demonstrate a commitment to a career in paediatric anaesthesia and paediatric anaesthesia research
  4. Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthetic experience is desirable but not essential
  5. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
  7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
  8. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
