What you'll be doing

As the SCHN Nurse Educator Grade 3, you will be responsible for developing the capability of the nursing workforce to respond to current and emerging paediatric areas of healthcare, by identifying opportunities, developing, delivering and evaluating programs and courses for the nursing education service across the Network. You will work closely with and provide leadership for the nursing education team and ensure the learning and development needs of the nursing cohort are met.

The Network Nurse Educator will be responsible for achieving the strategic objectives of the Resuscitation Education program across the SCHN.

This position will form part of a well-supported and engaged education team, where you will have the capacity to develop significant professional relationships across specialities within paediatrics health care.

About you
The successful candidate will be a proactive, driven educator who has post registration clinical or education qualification relevant to the position, have demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. As an experienced, multi skilled professional you will have demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs,
demonstrate capacity to link education programs to contemporary nursing practise and required learning outcomes have a high level of understanding of contemporary adult learning principles with ability to put these into practice and excellent computer literacy. 

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Relevant post registration nursing/ midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area.
  3. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs within paediatrics and responsibilities.
  4. Demonstrated effective leadership skills including the ability to communicate, negotiate and problem solve.
  5. Demonstrate evidence of the provision of relevant education material and programs that incorporate the use of adult learning principles.
  6. Evidence of being professionally active within the specialty area of paediatrics and adolescents demonstrating self-motivation along with competence in managing competing priorities to deliver quality outcomes.
  7. Evidence of preparation of written submissions and reports and demonstrated skills in the use of MS Office.
