Exciting opportunities await at the child and adolescent acute mental health inpatient unit at the Sydney Children's Hospital! We are seeking suitably qualified Registered Nurses to join our team. Come and join a supportive multidisciplinary team within one of NSW's tertiary paediatric hospitals.
The Acute Psychiatric Inpatient service at Sydney Children's Hospital (Saunders Unit) cares for young people aged between 6 and 16 years who are experiencing acute emotional or mental health problems that cannot be managed in the community. We provide specialist inpatient assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic services catered to the young person's unique needs and facilitated within a safe environment. We value collaboration with other services to create a seamless patient journey where care is provided at the right time, in the right place, and by the right team. Saunders Unit is a secure (locked) ward with eight beds, where we strive to provide care in a least restrictive environment.
What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse acts as a role model by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness , Respect and Empowerment.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Recent paediatric experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting.
- Effective time management skills
- Computer literacy.
