The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) is at the forefront of digital innovation within NSW Health. This exciting role within the SCHN eMR Unit will play a pivotal part in supporting the transition to the NSW Health Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) solution. We are seeking candidates with experience in managing Cerner eMM or Cerner PathNet applications, particularly within a paediatric setting.
What you'll be doing
The Unit provides expert knowledge and support to users of clinical applications and ensures that all SCHN eMR Applications and Interfaces are fit for purpose and continuously improved to fulfil SCHN and NSW Health clinical and business requirements
The primary purpose of this position is to be involved in initiatives that align with the Clinical and Information Management and Technology (IM&T) strategies of SCHN, NSW Health and NSW Health Pathology.
The position will assist with the progressive transitions to the NSW Health Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) solutions, State-wide Laboratory Information Management System (SWLIMS) and electronic Record for Intensive Care (eRIC), focussed on the complex requirements of the SCHN patient flow, clinical workflows and clerical workflows.
- Health qualification with extensive clinical, informatics and eMR experience in Paediatrics within an Australian acute public hospital setting or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills with ability to effect change and adoption of technology through key stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge and experience working with Cerner eMR applications or other electronic clinical information systems in the hospital setting (preferably paediatric).
- Analysis and problem solving skills to identify and analyse future paediatric eMR needs, and to develop innovative solutions, plans and strategies to effectively respond to these needs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop interdisciplinary eMR solutions in collaboration with application development staff.
- Significant interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated experience in liaison and negotiation at all organisational levels with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Understanding of the decision-making processes and structures of large complex organisations.
- Proven ability to motivate and work in a team environment to foster collaboration of ideas and continuous improvements o support the application.
