Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia. We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives. 

Additional information: 
  • An eligibility list may be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies. 
  • Part time/job share arrangements may also be considered. 
This role is a shift working role and covers 7 days per week/ 24 hours per day. This role does 12 hour shifts.
There are two positions available:
  • 27 hours a week permanent
  • 30 hours a week temporary for a 12 month contract

What you'll be doing
The ED Clinical Support Administrator provides administrative support for the ED health care team under the management** of the Nurse Manager (NM). The Clinical Support Administrator works under broad supervision, and is given scope to exercise initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures to achieve excellent customer service for patients, families and staff.
  1. Previous administrative experienced preferred and a willingness to complete a Certificate III in Health Administration (or equivalent).
  2. Ability to work effectively as a key member of a multi-disciplinary health team to enable the provision of excellent customer service.
  3. Excellent communication skills inclusive of competence in spoken and written English.
  4. Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people who may be distressed, people from diverse backgrounds and health care staff from different positions and levels.
  5. Demonstrated experience in use of Information Systems, including patient administration systems, word processing, email, databases and preparation and use of spreadsheets.
  6. Ability to prioritise own workload to meet both position and team requirements.
  7. A demonstrated ability to resolve workplace issues or problems by use of problem solving skills.
  8. Ability to work a rotating 24/7 roster which includes day, afternoon and night shifts.
