The Adolescent Medicine Department at The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network are seeking a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) to join their team for a duration of 50 hours per annum for the contracted quinquennium period until 30th June 2027. The role will be based at both Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The Children's Hospital at Westmead. 



VMOs are responsible for providing excellent clinical services to children and their families, as part of a multidisciplinary team. The VMO will participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. VMOs must abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews.

The VMO is expected to participate in a proportional share of the on call roster.

The applicant should have:
1. Expertise in the area of paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.
2. Surgical expertise in the area of gynaecology.
3. Interest in fertility after childhood illness preferred.

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Child and Adolescent Gynecologist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Gynecologist at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Expertise or interest in the area of paediatric and adolescent gynaecoloy. Interest in fertility after childhood illness. Surgical expertise in the area of gynaecology.
  4. Recognised expertise and proven record of excellence in clinical specialty and demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  6. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  8. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
