About the Opportunity

The NSW Government has committed to increase the number of apprenticeships and Traineeships across the NSW public sector. In line with this, NSW Health Pathology are offering an excellent opportunity to gain on the job experience and a nationally recognised qualification. 

The Traineeship will provide on the job training, and support attendance at TAFE working towards gaining a Diploma in Laboratory Technology (Pathology). It is anticipated that the Traineeship will commence on the 10th of February 2025.

Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (by February 2025) OR a Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques and the equivalent experience as a pre-requisite to be eligible for this traineeship. Noting applicants cannot currently be working for NSW Health Pathology.

What you'll be doing

Learn and practise basic laboratory work in a pathology setting in conjunction with completing a Diploma in Laboratory Technology (Pathology) at TAFE. 
This trainee position is suitable for an individual who has completed a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, and will study part time (one day per week) while working in the Laboratory. The trainee position and is only available while the incumbent is still studying in the appropriate course.  
Under supervision perform a range of laboratory support and/or specimen reception services, and provide assistance to laboratory staff, to deliver a patient focused service.
