What you'll be doing
The Customer Service Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of a wide range of administrative support services to the Post-Analytical Laboratory at NSW Health Pathology – Northern Sydney. 

In addition to managing a number of routine tasks, including phone calls into the unit, the Customer Service Officer is required to manage a demanding workload, including sorting and distributing pathology reports, handling day-to-day enquiries about pathology and testing requirements, completing data entry for reports requiring correction, creating doctor codes and configuring reporting preferences, liaising with laboratory staff, managing an array of complex troubleshooting situations and dealing with complaints. The Customer Service Officer is also required to provide administrative assistance to the Client Relationship Consultant when on leave.

  1. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise own work, display time management skills taking into account the impact on others to achieve results to meet deadlines.
  2. Demonstrated ability to use computer hardware, software applications and electronic administration systems and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel to complete requirements of the role.
  3. A demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks in a high volume customer service environment under broad supervision, but requiring independence with work tasks.
  4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to confidently and courteously deal with a variety of people and work contexts.
  5. Ability to exercise initiative in the application of established policies and procedures in an administrative setting.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain processional relationships.
  7. Ability to manage interpersonal conflict in a professional capacity.
  8. Previous exposure to medical terminology and/or a healthcare/ pathology workplace environment or a demonstrated ability to learn
