  1. Postgraduate degree in Science/Computer Science or Engineering in informatics or genomics or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  2. Demonstrable experience in advising strategic directions in bioinformatics.
  3. Demonstrated experience and capability at a senior level in organising and delivering bioinformatics projects using formal project management protocols and to strict timeframes.
  4. Proven proficiency in developing bioinformatics solutions suitable for implementation in routine clinical genomics services.
  5. Demonstrable experience in scripting languages relevant to genomics bioinformatics.
  6. Demonstrated ability to use computing clusters and related queuing systems as well as cloud based computing and software development.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with highly developed verbal and written expression, and the ability to interact with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Demonstrated ability to interpret and critically evaluate legislation and regulation related to genomic and health data from an operational perspective.

  

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand Policy Directive PD2018_009 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Diseases. This position is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
