  1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health discipline and/or extensive experience in biobanking or medical pathology at a senior level, together with a demonstrated commitment to retaining currency with market trends, technology development and performance excellence at the forefront of biobanking practice.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the role of biobanking in medical research and NSW Health Pathology’s role in delivering statewide biobanking services for NSW.
  3. Proven leadership and management skills including capacity to manage human, financial and physical resources effectively and efficiently to ensure budget and performance targets are met.
  4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and interact professionally with a diverse range of people at all levels.
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead the local implementation of strategic and organisational priorities and deliver multiple outcomes within tight timeframes while maintaining a high standard of service.
  6. Highly developed understanding of relevant professional standards and regulatory/compliance frameworks including ethical conduct of research, privacy and confidentiality, quality management, and accreditation
  7. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of excellent customer service and motivating staff to deliver high quality services within the context of the NSW Health Pathology’s RITE values.
  8. Demonstrated computer literacy and working knowledge of relevant business software and information management systems.

This position is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Please note: A person who is not an Australian citizen or a permanent resident is only eligible for temporary employment for a period not longer than the duration of their current visa.



This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand Policy Directive PD2018_009 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Diseases. All new recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. New recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
