Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. 

  

This Hospital Scientist position in the Sleep Investigation unit will work together with other hospital scientists, nursing staff, physiotherapists and physicians in conducting a comprehensive range of sleep investigations appropriate to the diagnosis and management of patients with sleep disorders.  This position is responsible for preparing for, conducting, and analysing complex physiological recordings, as well as assisting in the treatment of breathing related sleep disorders, and performing research tasks, under the direction of the Medical Director.
This is a day shift position.

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently holds a science or applied science degree from an approved university requiring three years of full time study or an equivalent qualification.
  • Able to work on day shift, score sleep studies and perform MSLTs.
  • Has a sound scientific knowledge with the ability to solve problems, assist in the development of new methodologies and perform routine and/or more complex tasks on a day-to-day basis.
  • Registered or registry eligible with Board of Polysomnographic Technologists, or the Australian Council of Clinical Physiologists.
