The successful applicant will be joining a team of scientists, technicians, researchers and managers to ensure the delivery of high quality and timely services to the health and medical research community in NSW.
The NSW Health Statewide Biobank is located on the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Campus in Camperdown, Sydney. The campus is a short walk from Redfern, Macdonaldtown and Newtown train stations as well as multiple bus stops. The many cafes and restaurants of Newtown's King Street are only minutes away.

What you'll be doing
NSW Health Statewide Biobank (NSWHSB) supports and enables world-class health and medical research in NSW. The NSWHSB Quality and Research Engagement Manager will work closely with NSWHSB staff including the Operations Manager, Senior Scientist and Scientists, and the NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) Director of Biobanking, as well as university research collaborators to establish and deliver research services and ensure
continual process improvement. This role is responsible for;
- Develop, implement and maintain quality systems and continuous improvement throughout the NSW Health Statewide Biobank.
- Provide leadership to influence practice changes in relation to the provision of quality systems, manage the ISO9001 accreditation/certification process, manage incidents, risks, root cause analysis.
- Lead the audit program, conduct internal audits and be responsible for document management, control and the provision of evidence in support of accreditation requirements and auditing compliance with policies and procedures.

- Relevant quality improvement qualifications or equivalent work experience preferably in a clinical research environment together with project management skills and/or demonstrated relevant post graduate experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the concepts and processes of the accreditation/certification cycle as well as demonstrated knowledge and experience preparing for, achieving and maintaining accreditation/certification, preferably in a relevant research laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of methodologies to conduct, implement, monitor and evaluate a quality improvement program.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing for, conducting and managing audits, conducting root cause analysis and managing the effectiveness or corrective/preventative measures.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of quality systems and programs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience in managing incident investigations, conducting incident reviews and managing challenging issues such as non-compliance.
- Advanced experience with use of Laboratory Information Systems, Quality Control Systems and computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite and Access.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organisational and relationship management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups as demonstrated by extensive experience writing manuscripts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures and communicating them to stakeholders.
