Join the team at Westmead Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in Pathology Collections!
We are seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to support the delivery of high-quality patient care through the collection and preparation of pathology specimens. We currently have a number of roles available including permanent part time, temporary part time and casual.
In this dynamic role, you will perform venepuncture, interact with patients and clinical staff, and contribute to the smooth operation of the pathology service. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospital environment, with the chance to make a real difference in patient outcomes.

What you'll be doing
Interested in joining Australia’s largest public pathology service? Apply now by addressing the following questions:
- Certificate III in Pathology Collection and/or experience in venepuncture, or the ability to quickly learn relevant clinical procedures and terminology.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with effective communication across patients, carers, and clinical staff.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve general issues within specimen preparation and maintaining sample integrity when transporting.
- High level of accuracy in data entry and computer use, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
- Hold a valid Class C Driver’s Licence and the ability to work shifts, including weekends, and travel to various sites as required.
