ABOUT THE ROLE

The Recovery unit is expanding at NSW Ambulance with an exciting opportunity in a newly created position. We are seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to assist injured workers undergoing medical treatment under their Workers Compensation claim. This crucial position will require you to coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure that injured workers are receiving evidence-based treatment that is reasonable and necessary under the legislation. This key role will provide technical advice and apply best practice interventions to progress claims to finalisation, whilst also fostering care and compassion for those recovering from injury.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • The successful candidate must have proven and demonstrated experience in managing workers compensation claims for a self-insurer or scheme agent.
  • You will also be an experienced injury management professional, with experience in managing complex physical and psychological injuries.
  • It is essential that you have a strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and guidelines and how it is applied when managing claims for exempt and non-exempt workers.
  • You will need to be a team player with the ability to work independently in a high demand role, working with key stakeholders to improve recovery outcomes for our injured workers.
  • You need to hold current Return to Work Certification and experience in the same.

Specifically:

  • An experienced Recovery at Work Coordinator, passionate about returning people to health and work, you can work within processes and policies in a complex and changing environment.
  • You are able to work within the parameters set and offer a balanced and strategic approach to your work. You are organised, structured in your working style, and strive to provide the highest quality of customer service to our customers.
  • Taking a balanced, strategic, and proactive approach to your work, you can deliver positive outcomes for our customers and injured workers.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Recovery team and key stakeholders you will provide valuable input into current practices and process, with a view to achieving quality business outcomes.
