- You must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible: - Completed High School Certificate with an ATAR of 80 or higher (including adjustment factors) or equivalent. (ATAR score may limit the options of which university can be applied to for enrolment.) - Successful completion of a minimum four (50 credit points) undergraduate units of study for university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies. (number of subjects completed may limit the options of which university can be applied to for enrolment) - A completed Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies - Completed a relevant course at university Diploma level or higher at any Australian higher education provider (or an equivalent overseas qualification)
- Demonstrated willingness and capability to undertake the necessary and relevant education as determined by NSW Ambulance to become a Paramedic and complete a self-funded degree in paramedicine within 4 years from one of the approved partner universities under the Post Employment Tertiary Pathway.
- Computer literacy and use of web based programs
- Planning and organising skills to effectively manage your time and prioritise workloads, with the ability to manage stress and maintain performance under pressure without negative impact on yourself or others
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and also to develop professional relationships and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately with people from a broad range of backgrounds with integrity, empathy and respect for ethical and professional standards including patient confidentiality and sensitivity and ability to abide by the accepted standards of conduct and performance.
- Applying work health and safety policies to safeguard self and others whilst undertaking the responsibilities of the role.
- Analytical capability to assess and evaluate a situation and determine appropriate action whilst also accepting responsibility for the impact of that action
