ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Director, Executive Strategy and Priorities articulates and drives the Chief Executive's strategies and priorities, including the NSW Ambulance Performance Framework. The Associate Director also leads and manages a team of that develops, delivers, monitors and evaluates strategic projects on behalf of the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team, and leads the secretariat function for the Advisory Board and other key committees. This role plays an important role in coordinating and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure NSW Health and corporate objectives are achieved.

ABOUT YOU

You are a strategic, outcomes-focused leader with a track record of driving high-priority initiatives in large, complex organisations. You thrive in dynamic environments, working closely with executive teams to translate vision into measurable outcomes.

You bring strong experience in leading enterprise-wide reform, performance frameworks, and project delivery, ideally within the health, government, or related contexts. You understand the machinery of government and the broader NSW Health system, and you know how to align competing priorities while keeping strategy on track.

Your strengths include:

  • Proven ability to lead and influence at a senior level, with sound judgement and political acumen
  • Deep experience in designing and delivering strategic projects and embedding performance monitoring frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills, credible, persuasive, and able to build consensus across stakeholders
  • A practical understanding of governance, reporting and accountability in a high-profile public service environment
  • A collaborative leadership style that builds strong internal partnerships and a high-performing team culture
  • A focus on delivery, integrity, and public value
