An exciting opportunity exists for a self-driven, experienced dynamic individual with a strong interest in, and commitment to, quality and improvement and health information management to become part of the District Health Information Services Management team. This individual will support the design and implementation of projects that promote new and innovative approaches to healthcare delivery across acute, primary, community and aged care services.

What you'll be doing
The Special Projects Lead is responsible for defining framework and identifying key innovation/improvement aligning with the Health Information Service's (HIS) mission statement as well as the NSLHD mission statement and strategic framework. The role provides advice and contributes to the operational effectiveness and excellence of Health Information Services by developing and implementing strategies to drive a process of continuous business improvements

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. A degree in Health Information Manager OR equivalent with extensive experience working in Health Information Services OR a combination of study and work in Health Information Services.
  3. Demonstrated high level project management skills, with a commitment to rigorous outcome evaluation and knowledge management to inform organisational learning and future strategic directions.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and deliver outcomes to agreed deadlines with a commitment to high quality outputs and attention to detail.
  5. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to problem solve and to pro-actively manage issues and risks in order to facilitate timely and positive outcomes, preferably with working knowledge of the NSW Health Enterprise Risk Management framework.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of policies, procedures and Australian Standards as they relate to Health Information Management, data and Clinical Documentation/Forms Management.
  7. Excellent written, interpersonal communication and negotiation skills across a variety of levels and settings within the healthcare system. Ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders and provide high level reports, business cases and briefs; and influence/ negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  8. Experience with complex task planning, ability to ensure coordination of diverse inputs and achievements of key project deliverable using project management methodology.
