Where you'll be working
You will be based at St Leonards in the Sexual Assault team within the Prevention And Response against Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Service.

What you'll be doing
You will be providing both crisis and ongoing counselling for children, young people and adults following sexual abuse/sexual violence as well as court support for counselling clients.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist who has completed 9 years of service as a minimum OR with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent accredited post-graduate Masters, Doctorate, or PhD degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent relevant to the role OR tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and post graduate experience at a minimum of level 2 or above. Applicants must be Female – Under Section 31 (2) (h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  2. Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of crisis and longer term counselling interventions to children, young people and/or adults who have experienced sexual assault and other forms of violence, abuse and neglect, including children under ten with problematic harmful sexual behaviours.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interagency environment using strong advocacy, negotiation and problem solving skills to build networks with key stakeholders and plan, deliver and coordinate patient care.
  4. Extensive post graduate experience in crisis intervention, client centred trauma informed advocacy and the delivery of trauma model of counselling from within a feminist framework.
