Where you'll be working: Royal North Shore Hospital, NSLHD Population Health Promotion



What you'll be doing: The Senior Project Officer, Planetary Health will coordinate and support key district-wide projects and initiatives to see Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) achieve its ambitious target of ‘net zero carbon emissions by 2035’.
Specifically, the position will build relationships with key stakeholders and work alongside senior executives, clinical and non-clinical staff, and patients/customers to support implementation and evaluation of the NSLHD Planetary Health Framework and identified net zero projects.

The role will contribute to research and education about the health impacts of climate change and supervise staff-led evidence-based projects which aim to promote sustainable healthcare to reduce our carbon footprint, and keep people healthy, well and out of hospital.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: 

 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and appropriate experience in project management, sustainability, research, health promotion/education, or a related discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and evaluating public health and/or sustainability projects or initiatives.
  3. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and ability to lead change and work in partnership with those at all levels of an organisation.
  4. Excellent communication skills and ability to research and review evidence to develop written communications in the form of briefs, reports, and presentations.
