An exciting opportunity exists for motivated Registered Nurse to join the dynamic multi-disciplinary team who have a passion for clinical excellence. The registered nurse will work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, high quality, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.

Where you'll be working
 
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, Maternity Services, Special Care Nursey. You will be working in a well-equipped, friendly and comfortable environment that ensures the safety and well-being of both patients and staff. What you'll be doing
You will join a collaborative team that are committed to providing top-quality care for babies and their mothers and are dedicated in upholding the highest standards of nursing practice.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current Registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
  2. Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/seven day week rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of women and newborn centred care, evidenced based practice and quality improvement.
  4. Demonstrated recent experience in the specialty of Neonatal Nursing through the capacity to provide effective, high quality nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, responsibly, and accountably with minimal supervision and effectively manage the use of staff and physical resources when rostered In Charge of Shift in SCN.
  6. Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others effective communications written and verbal skills. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  7. Evidence of advanced theoretical knowledge and expertise in the provision of comprehensive care for the sick and/or premature neonate, including care and management of neonates requiring positive airway pressure (BCPAP) and/or short term ventilation.
