Where you'll be working

Royal North Shore Hospital's Emergency Department features Adult and Paediatric Resuscitation and Trauma Bays, Acute Adult, Paediatrics, Fast Track, and Emergency Short Stay Unit (EMU). RNSH is also the principal tertiary referral centre for NSW and Major Trauma Centre which sees us treat a larger proportion of high complexity presentations. We have established teams of qualified registered nurses, many with post graduate specialty qualifications, who are specialists in delivering high quality care as well as fostering staff of the future. We have highly qualified Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Unit Managers and Clinical Nurse Specialists who provide support to ensure our staff and our team are delivering the latest and highest clinical standards with a supportive robust education program. The Emergency Department supports a 12 month post graduate Clinical Accreditation Program, a Second Year Program and individualised specialist training for each area of the department.

What you'll be doing

The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Current Emergency or Intensive Care experience.
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
  5. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
