Where you'll be working

8D is a 30 bed Surgical Ward catering for the following specialties: Head & Neck/ENT; Gynae Oncology; Endocrine Surgery – adrenalectomies, breast surgery, complicated thyroids; General Surgery – melanoma surgery; Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery; Colorectal surgery; Plastics; Ophthalmology and Dental. The unit boasts a supportive team, educational opportunities to develop an expansive knowledge base, and encouragement to pursue professional development opportunities.
What you'll be doing
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current experience in an acute hospital environment.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
