The Maternity Service at Royal North Shore Hospital is committed to professional development of staff, innovation and midwifery/nursing excellence at all levels. We have a focus on evidence-based practice and actively encourage and support an environment that promotes teamwork. Our Birth rooms and Birth unit have incorporated the latest research on room design to promote a woman centred environment. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced midwife as a welcome addition to the team that provide midwifery care to the women in our community.
What you'll be doing
To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidenced based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required.
The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a high level of written and verbal skills with both patients and colleagues.
- Recent experience and competency to practise as a midwife in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
