Older Persons Mental Health Clinical Nurse Consultant

1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
2. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and a minimum of 5 years post registration experience in a mental health and/or aged care speciality. Hold a current NSW Driver’s licence.
3. Post graduate tertiary qualification within the speciality of aged care and/or mental health drug and alcohol.
4. Demonstrated experience with research and /or quality improvement activities.
5. Demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership in management of older people with complex mental health issues and psychiatric disorders and associated behaviours.
6. Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead evidence-based nursing clinical practice through the development and implementation of educational programs.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including advocacy and negotiation with key internal and external partners.
8. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in the use of computerised information systems.
