Are you a clinical leader and role model? Operating theatres Module 3 is seeking a suitably experienced Registered Nurse with a strong interest in and commitment to Perioperative Nursing to lead the very experienced and dedicated team. The position is Permanent Full Time commencing January 2020.

 

Where you'll be working

This position is based at Royal North Shore Hospital Operating Theatres and works within a dedicated multidisciplinary team environment aiming to improve the patient journey through the perioperative environment. The surgical specialties encompassed by Module3 include: ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Plastics and Burns.

 

What you’ll be doing

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will manage a unit or ward in order to provide a quality standard of care to NSLHD Patients.


The Nursing Unit Manager Level , Module 3 Operating Theatres purpose is to:

  • Lead, direct and co-ordinate patient care
  • Ensure the practice of nursing is safe and efficient and maintain standards of care and best practice
  • Lead and co-ordinate the health care team
  • Manage the daily operational aspects of Module 1 Operating Theatres activity
  • Monitor and co-ordinate patient flow within the unit
  • Participate in the management of the business and management processes of the unit
  • Monitor and ensure all mandatory training requirements are met by the unit

Remuneration: $2,269.50 Per Week
Hours Per Week: 38

Note that employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if the position cannot be filled on a permanent basis.

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with current license to practice Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). 
  • Extensive recent clinical experience, experience in a leadership role or equivalent in Operating Theatres and knowledge of current nursing and midwifery issues.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for perioperative nursing services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team including experience in coordinating operating theatre activity, stock management and equipment management. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications and roster management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment in initiating, developing and implementing quality and work improvement activities that enhance the delivery of perioperative services.
