Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The Nursing Unit Manager of Graythwaite Rehabilitation Centre at Ryde Hospital is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred rehabilitation care. The role focuses on achieving optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and effectively managing resources, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support patients in regaining independence and transitioning safely back to the community.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and Relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Proven ability to lead, support and develop a clinical team within a multidisciplinary environment, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and digital skills, with proficiency in clinical systems, rostering, and documentation to support effective team coordination and patient care.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing change and quality improvement initiatives, with a sound understanding of clinical governance and service development in a rehabilitation setting.
