Where you'll be working
BreastScreen conducts multi-disciplinary assessment clinics, radiologists, surgeons, radiographers and counsellors make up the multi-disciplinary assessment team. Assessments are conducted at both St Leonards & Erina. BreastScreen Northern Sydney Central Coast is one of the nine Screening and Assessment Services (SASs) of BreastScreen NSW which are geographically spread across 14 Local Government Areas.

Purpose of the Position
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District.
Provide Radiology screening and assessment services to women attending the BreastScreen NSW North Sydney and Central Coast sites. Initiate and participate in clinical teaching and research as well as quality activities.
The duties of the Radiologist are:
- To interpret screening mammography images on a regular basis as arranged with the Designated Radiologist and Director
- To participate in the BreastScreen radiologist quality assurance system
- To participate in regular multi-disciplinary clinical meetings and other meetings so as to meet the BreastScreen Australia National Accreditation Standard (NAS) regarding ongoing education
- Participate in Assessment Clinics - as agreed with the Designated Radiologist and Director, working within the context of the multidisciplinary team
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 3 months may be considered
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
- Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in breast imaging, in particular mammography and mammographic workup interpretation, breast ultrasound performance and interpretation and imaging guided biopsies.
- Certification of participation in ongoing BreastScreen quality assurance and CPD.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment and commitment to teaching, research and an interest in quality improvement methodologies.
