Where you'll be working
Northern Beaches Community Mental Health Service (NBCMHS) provides a comprehensive range of community mental health services for adult and older people in the Northern Beaches area. NBCMHS includes acute and ongoing mental health care for adult and older people, assertive outreach service and mental health liaison service for Mona Vale Hospital and Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice.
Purpose of the Position
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 3 months may be considered.

- Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry, together with a demonstrated interest and experience in Community Psychiatry.
- The capacity for involvement in education, training, supervision and liaison in Community Psychiatry across a variety of professional disciplines and settings.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work with staff from a variety of professional disciplines.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical governance processes.
