An exciting opportunity exists for a mental health professional to join the Brookvale Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) team working as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing high quality, evidenced based clinical care to older people presenting with complex mental health issues in collaboration with the consumer, their family/carer/s and other stakeholders.

What you'll be doing
The primary function of the OPMHS Mental Health Professional is to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide high quality, evidenced based clinical care to Older People presenting with complex mental health issues in collaboration with the consumer &their carer/s, the consumers General Practitioner, Aged Care Services, other medical professionals and Non-Government Organisations (where applicable). The OPMHS consumer cohort requires specific and specialist assessment and interventions associated with the complexity of their clinical presentations including the presence of co-morbidities such as physical health problems, drug and alcohol use / abuse and issues of ageing including Dementia and the Behavioural &Psychological Symptoms of Dementia.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) registration as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or eligibility for membership to the AASW.
- Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessment and management, including assessment, risk management and care coordination.
- Demonstrated experience working in Community Mental Health services and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
