What you'll be doing
This position provides leadership, management and support to the Harm Minimisation Team whilst maximising the effectiveness of the Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) to ensure the delivery of quality, cost effective services and the achievement of relevant Primary and Community Health and District service objectives and KPIs, including Hepatitis C testing and treatment.    
This position works with the NSW Ministry of Health (MoH), the local HIV & Sexual Health and Alcohol and Drug teams, other District NSPs and other relevant services to ensure that the Needle and Syringe Program operates effectively within the NSW NSP Guidelines, the NSW NSP Guidelines 2023, NSW Hepatitis C Strategy 2022 - 2025 and the NSW HIV Strategy 2021 - 2025. Therefore delivering an integrated primary health care approach to priority populations. This position will also lead the delivery of a range of quality projects relevant to the NSP.



People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline and/or relevant experience in health management.
  2. Demonstrated experience working within a harm reduction framework in the context of injecting drug users, community development and health promotion.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage staff including the planning and supervision of work and performance management, recruitment and effective change management.
  4. Demonstrated project management and strategic planning skills including strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Demonstrated understanding of the continuous quality improvement framework and the ability to engage and support staff in developing and implementing health promotion and education programs for clients and other key stakeholders.
