- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience in the field of intellectual disability, or a related field with the ability to apply this experience to the field of intellectual disability; and NSW Drivers Licence, with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
- Experience in, and demonstrated record of sound achievement and leadership at senior management level in a large and complex organisation.
- Thorough understanding of and commitment to health care provision and management necessary to improve health outcomes for service consumers, including good experience in quality and process redesign using relevant health guidelines, for example, Agency for Clinical Innovation guidelines.
- Demonstrated excellence in all aspects of the management of human resources/financial/administrative/clinical services using strategic/business planning, integration and evaluation skills to ensure available resources are used effectively within the primary and community health service.
- Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills and the ability to make complex judgements and take initiative within the delegated area.
- Highly developed and effective written oral communication skills, with excellence in Microsoft office applications.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and influencing skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, for example, the Ministry of Health, other Local Health Districts and key agencies like the Agency for Clinical Innovation.
