The Patient Services and Information Unit is seeking a self motivated individual with frontline clerical, administrative and Team Leader experience.


This position functions as the Department Secretary/Team Leader of the Administrative team which provides administrative support to the Child and Family Health Service.

What you'll be doing

This position is responsible for the coordination of administrative services within allocated areas and also to ensure the administrative support is allocated to provide administrative, financial and project management support for the designated departments at Royal North Shore Health Service.

This position must ensure that frontline and secretarial staff are delivering high quality administrative services in a customer focused manner and in accordance with Hospital and departmental policies.

This role involves the oversight supervision of administrative services whilst also providing support to Clinicians, nursing staff, revenue and other senior admin officers within PSIU.

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality administrative services, extensive experience in senior administrative roles, strong analytical, organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in medical records, subpoenas, Chapter 16A requests, privacy and confidentiality policies.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in supervising a team of customer focused administrative staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services across sites.
  • Demonstrated high level computer literacy including dictation and typing skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
  • Drivers’ license recognised in New South Wales
