What you'll be doing
The Departmental Secretary is responsible in providing secretarial support for the departmental areas of the Royal North Shore Hospital. The position provides administrative support including, booking, billings, diary management, transcription of reports, collation and analysis of documentation however is not limited to these duties. These positions are required to supply support to a multidisciplinary area and are not limited to a specific speciality.
The position is to provide support, and advice for the smooth administrative functioning with in the required area under the direction of the Manager of the corresponding level and the direction of the Patient Services and Information Unit.

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Demonstrated experience in providing high level support in a busy work environment with heavy workload.
  3. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
  4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to integrate complex information from multiple sources.
  5. Demonstrated experience in data entry, demonstrated experience in ensuring data integrity.
  6. Capacity to work under minimal supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
  7. Demonstrated high level customer service skills.
  8. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
