What you'll be doing
The position is responsible for the provision of finance, business and analysis functions for the Division of Surgery and Anaesthesia within Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH). This includes the provision and oversight of the Divisions finance &business management, accounting, performance monitoring and service planning.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce, and /or meet the requirements for membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting body and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in management accounting including the development of financial budgets, reporting, monitoring and experience in business case development.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to utilise health data systems used in NSW particularly those related to costing and patient care. This includes the ability to analyse data to aid decision making for both financial and non-financial KPI’s.
  • Experience in operationalising key finance, performance and business strategies to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Organisational, leadership, and management skills of a high order with knowledge relating to a health environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to conduct complex negotiations, coupled with a consultative and facilitative approach to problem solving and strategy development, with experience in negotiating budget levels within an environment faced with limited resources and increasing activity pressures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian and NSW health system funding models.
