What you'll be doing

The role of the Assistant in Nursing [AIN] within Mental Health Drug and Alcohol [MHDA] Services is to support both the nursing and multidisciplinary team under the direction of a Registered Nurse [RN]. The AIN assists in the provision of nursing care to mental health patients within an acute care setting and provides within their identified tasks direct patient care activities that support the recovery of acute mental health patients under the supervision of a RN. The role also involves the collecting of health care information, documenting and communicating the information back to the RN. 

 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care).
  2. Outline your understanding of the needs of Mental Health Consumers.
  3. Detail any relevant experience that would be suitable for this role.
