Allergy Immunology Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a suitably experienced Registered Nurse to perform the role of Allergy Immunology Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Where you'll be working

The Allergy/Immunology CNS2 will use expert evidence to triage and monitor access to clinics to ensure the timely review of new and existing patients.  The CNS2 will provide clinical management to complex patients and educate other health professionals and carers in the appropriate management of complex allergic conditions.  This position will facilitate the continuum of care via linkages/referral to local services as soon as possible.


What you'll be doing
The purpose of the CNS position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service. The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians. The CNS will perform drug allergy testing, venom immunotherapy, aeroallergen immunotherapy, and drug desensitisation; perform drug and food challenges and coordinate and implement clinical trials.

Remuneration: $1,930.80 - $1,994.20 Per Week
Hours Per Week: 38

 

Note that employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if the position cannot be filled on a permanent basis.

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills in computer use and applications such as Windows, word processing and database.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
