An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to apply for a position with the Northern Beaches Community Mental Health Service Acute Care Team.

Where you'll be working

Brookvale Community Health Centre

What you'll be doing

Working with a busy acute mental health care team. The role involves face to face assessments and telephone triage and 7 day follow up review calls. The team works on a 7 day rotating roster from 0800 to 2200hrs.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated, comprehensive mental health assessment and crisis intervention experience. Demonstrated experience and skills in suicide risk assessment and management.
  3. Advanced written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage consumers over the telephone and face to face through assessment and triage processes. Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders including the Northern Beaches Hospital Mental Health Service – public private partnership.
  4. Ability to understand, interpret, and analyse complex issues with proven conceptual thinking skills for effective problem solving and decision making.
