Join our supportive team as a Clinical Coder. This role will ensure the accurate and timely assignment of diagnoses and procedure codes using ICD-10-AM classification system and adherence to Australian Coding Standards

What you'll be doing
The primary responsibility of a clinical coder is the accurate translation of narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries and procedures into alphanumeric codes using ICD-10-AM and the correct assignment of the DRG within the NSW Health and Northern Sydney Local Health District timeframes. 

 People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Completion of HIMAA/OTEN coding course or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management.
  2. Demonstrated coding experience in a tertiary hospital using ICD-10-AM/ACHI and 3M Codefinder across a range of specialties with a proven knowledge and understanding of Australian Coding Standards and DRGs.

     

  3. Demonstrated experience with Patient Administration system/eMR such as Cerner.
