Practice Development Consultant - Grafton Base Hospital

1. Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife (division 1) with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed.
2. Demonstrated understanding of leadership, organisational culture and experience with self-directed work, projects management, change management and achieving timely results.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of practice development methodologies that support patient –centred and practice improvement initiatives within the workplace.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relating to nursing/ midwifery professional practice.
5. Highly developed and proven communication skills that include facilitation and presentation skills, coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, delegation and negotiation skills and the ability to write reports of a high standard.
6. Demonstrated analytical skills, computer literacy and the ability to use a variety of computer applications (e.g. word processing, excel, databases and Intranet)
7. Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes.
8. Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
